I would like to take this opportunity to update you on our current progress relating to the REACH legislation that came into force on the 1st June 2007. Our main objective since this began has been to ensure continued supply to our customers.
Holdtite has been working alongside all of its suppliers to ensure that all raw materials and products are pre-registered if required under the legislation.
Regarding the “candidate list” of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) Holdtite only uses one of the 15 substances, Dibutyl phthalate (CAS number 201-557-4), in a small number of its products. We anticipate to have eliminated its use by early 2009. Under the legislation we are legally obligated to provide an MSDS on request for any preparation (product) with an SVHC individually present at >0.1% w/w.
If and when we become aware of a substance or product that is no longer going to be available for any reason, we will ensure customers that have bought that product or a product containing that material in the last 12 months are informed as soon as possible.
We will not be providing a break down of CAS numbers of the raw materials or their pre registration in our formulations/products, as we are not obligated to do so under the REACH directive.
